Our commitment
IEC Florida First Coast intends to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this site and in the member portal. Anyone should be able to find out how to become an apprentice or a member without hitting a barrier. [Confirm the target standard with the board]
What this mockup already does
This design mockup ships with a skip link, semantic landmarks and headings, visible focus indicators on every interactive element, keyboard-operable navigation and accordions with correct ARIA state, labelled form controls, and text contrast checked against AA on the navy and warm-accent palette.
Known gaps
[To be completed after an audit. The real site will need alternative text for every photograph, captions on any video, and an accessible replacement for the embedded map on the contact page]
Third-party content
Some functionality (the member portal, event registration, embedded maps) will come from outside vendors whose accessibility the chapter does not directly control. [Request VPATs during vendor selection]
